Featuring Raspberry Kidz

I am featuring Raspberry Kidz from Etsy.com and EtsyKids today. Here are some question that to get to know her better, and be sure to check out her shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/raspberrykidz and blog http://raspberrykidz.blogspot.com/ . She creates computer-generated art, inspired by kids and their art.

---What did you do before this/along with this?--- I was an art director for a magazine publishing company. Now I am a stay-at-home mom, but I also still do the 'magazine thing,' as I have started up two of my own: one at my kids' school, and one that goes to 5 different Chicago Public Schools.

---What inspires your designs?--- Children's art!

---What are 3 words that describe your work?--- whimisical, bright, unique

---What are 3 words that describe you?--- whimsical, bright, unique (when I take my prozac)

---Do you have a favorite piece from your shop?--- I love Butterfly Bride with Fish. It's based on my daughter's drawing, and she helped name it as well.

---What’s your most productive time of day?--- When the kids are at school, before lunch.

---Where do you see your business in 5 years?---I would love to keep doing what I'm doing, but with more sales in my future. : )

---What’s one thing you can’t live without?--- My extra-hot part skim/part soy (too much soy is too expensive for the amount that I drink!) mint mochas...I make them at home. If I bought them, I'd be broke.

---Anything else you would like us to know?--- I have always been the artist in the family. My sister was the writer. She recently discovered her artsy side, through lampwork beading. She makes the cutest 'critter' beads, and her writing skills come in handy with her wonderful descriptions. Check out her shop at: http://www.maybeads.etsy.com. I'm so happy for her!"
